The Lighted Lab is a cartoon depicting snippets of the life and adventures of a fictional character: Waldo "Wally" Witman. Wally is a thirty year old eccentric engineer and physicist who posseses the uncanny disposition and creative imagination of the five year old version of himself. In the all too familiar world of corporate bureaucracy and cut-throat politics, Wally's imagination is often his greatest source for sanity, survival, and perhaps some fun and mischief.

The Lighted Lab - To My Wife
Everyday, my wife, Claire, is neglected way too much. She tolerates my incessant desire to create imaginary worlds and will often help bring me home to planet Earth. At other times, she gives me ideas for a Waldo Witman moment that's so epic that they're fated to be captured in a frame. For example, the "Ex-Ray" gun was her idea. This cartoon volume is dedicated to her. I love you, my "Babs."
The Lighted Lab - A Brief Synopsis
This synopsis has evolved somewhat into its present form over a period of about a year since February of 2011. I pretty much create the story as I go, so it can go almost anywhere from here. But I think that the above brief summary leaves sufficient room to expand on the mythology and characters. Let's have some fun!
The Lighted Lab - Start Here
The Lighted Lab is a story. So it's best that the reader start from the very first post. Blogspot orders the latest entries at the top, so you'll have to scroll bottom-up to read these cartoons in the proper order. I first created this banner sometime around October of 2010, though I wasn't sure what I was doing. The very first banner was actually a lighthouse, but that somehow felt awkward. The more I played around with the idea, the more the sketches molded into their present forms. All the strips on this site are posted in their first drafts, so expect to see some typos and miscellaneous artifacts every now and then. Oh well. It's just a creative workspace. Once the entire volume of cartoons is completed, I'll go back and revise them and clean 'em up a little.
